Evidence behind the use of mobilizing splinting to restore motion in the presence of joint contracture in the hand will be outlined, including recent findings from the authors' PhD project. The implications of these research findings for clinical practice will be highlighted and "Pearls and Pitfalls" of mobilizing splinting will be discussed.
